France
Buying Guide
"My
name is Alexis and, being a totally committed Francophile.
So you know who you are talking to, a tiny piece about myself:
I first went to France at the age of 11 to visit my French
pen friend and this started a regular yearly visit until I
went to college. Then I lived in Paris for a year after leaving
college, many years ago now. I very nearly stayed longer,
having been offered a super bilingual secretarial job there
at the same time as a great post in London. It was one of
those defining moments of life when one could go one way or
the other and I came back to London… but my love affair
with France has continued when I purchase a property in France.
I hope very much to bring you the benefit of what I have learnt
about France in this Guide." (...more)

Italy
Property Buying Guide
"Buying
in Italy and/or emigrating is not an easy thing to do at the
best of times, let alone when you immigrate to a country that
has made complicated bureaucracy a national pastime! Yet the
rewards are there – you just have to be prepared. My
purpose here is to let you in on the benefit of the knowledge
I picked up along the way. I made many friends and learnt
a huge amount, not only about the buying process (I work part-time
in a local Italian estate agency) but also about how everything
“works” in Italy. Things like getting builders,
sorting out utilities, bank accounts, the taxes and so on
– and I am going to pass some of this on to you."
